What is Satanism?
To be honest their is not an actual definition of what satanism actually is. This is because it is subjective to the individual we make our own truths, decide for ourselves what is relevant and what is not. This site takes a look at some of the factors that combine together to make what Satanism is today. This includes a look at the history, or should I say the lack of. Magick and rituals which are the preominant aspect of what all this is really about. In time i am hoping to build a site that looks at many of as yet looked at aspects of satanism today, such as its psychological relevance, its religous relevance and also things such as how it is linked to things such as consciousness. Everything on this site is from my own personal perspective so it is going to be biased to some extent. However I do beleive that through what i have learnt and experianced over the years does actually come together in a way which many may find intresting or even possibly usefull to them in some way perhaps. The term satanism or satanist is just a label it dosent really have any real significance. The term is more a statement or a acknowledgement derived from the fact that society is fundermently based upon xian principles.
Okay we are not all Christians and we dont all beleive in God, so the question arises why do we still restrict ourselves by the dogma assosiated with these beleifs?
The Nature and Nurture debate consisting of our biological and our learned social learning enviroment both define the various influences that interact with each other to determine various aspects of our personality, behaviour and who we are as individuals. Each and everyone one of us has an individual subjective form of consciousness that incorperates our awareness of ourselves and the world around us. Some people refer to this as being the spirit others a form of consciousness while others may refer to it as the cosmos, nature or the essence of life. Religons have allways had certain procedures or teachings designed to alter behaviour or enable practitoners to elevate themselves to a higher form of being.
Evoulution exists within the real world as a biological fact, human behaviour also evolves as well but for some reason the human races ability to evolve spirtitualy remains stagment. We live in an age that prides itself on the advances it has made, but these advances can allways be traced back to specific individuals. Yet people still seem fixed upon following everyone else and remaining as part of the whole. You often see one revoulutary idea appear and then a whole number of people then suddenly jump on the band wagon and add slighty different tweaks to the original idea and then claim that they have created something completly different and more advanced in some way shape or form. However there are some people who do actually build upon existing ideas and actually develop them further in some way shape or form. But again these are also individuals.
So where does Satanism come into all of this?
Satanism is a beleif system that focuses on the individual, it is about self beleif and forming an understanding about ourselves. It promotes the need to recognise that each of us has our own individual and subjective perspective. Humanity has constantly tried to segregate and seperate what it considers to be benificial for the human race, using sexuality, ethnicity, faith, wealth, age, morals and so on. But no matter what it does these allways fail in the end because they become restricted and set in stone. Fanatical idealism usually becomes the end result with anyone who questions any of the policies being branded a heritic or a traitor.
Individuals acheive great things while herds of people acheive nothing, yet it is allways the mob of bodies that allways direct the outcomes in life. Surely it makes sense to encourge diversity and individuality. Afterall it is our actions that truly define who we are not what we beleive or how we look physically.
The future is built upon but one thing our need to survive and the current form of universal consciousness is not capable of sustaining us for much longer. The world needs individuals who are capable of taking responsability and who can make decisions without being restricted by moral dogmas that serve as much evoulutonary sense as a universal Darwin award for the human race.
